Marvell House Children's Centre

Marvell House Children’s Centre is an integral part of your local community providing help and support to children and families from pre-birth to age five with planning to extend support for children up to the age of 19. Marvell House staff teams work in close partnership with parents, carers, the wider community, health, local schools and childcare providers including childminders.


What’s on offer at Marvell House Children’s Centre?

Mini – Marvell’s Ofsted registered crèche facilities.  Providing up to 20 places for children aged 6 weeks – 5 years for parents wanting to take up training and learning.

Training information and access to information and guidance on training.

Job Centre Plus advice and guidance on seeking work and better off calculations.

Support for local childminders who can use the children’s centre services.

Parenting courses and advice on the ages and stages of your child’s development.

Health services including midwifery booking and child health clinics.

Children’s Centre practitioners with advice and information on smoking cessation, practical advice on breastfeeding, weaning, and safety for example.

Children’s Centre practitioners offer home visits and more intensive support for families needing  it.

Sessions for parents with new babies that include bay massage, and “baby time.”

 Stay and play activity sessions for children and parents that include creative activities such as “Messy Play”   and Marvell “Stay and Play” .  We have physical activities such as “Marvellous Mini's.”

Outreach sessions at local schools and community venues.

Links to local schools including transition from the Children’s Centre.

We welcome parents, carers and children coming and using the centre at any time.  We have a sensory room and   a family room with a kitchen. There is always a friendly face at Marvell. We have a large car park, an open space at the centre with seating and a buggy park. Some parents may want to join our Activity Planning Group or become part of the Advisory Board. We want parents and carers to help us to deliver the services that meet the needs of the community.
