The nursery has three childcare rooms Starlight Room, Dolphin Room, Moonshine Room which are registered for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Children move through each of the childcare room as they are developmentally ready. This will be discussed with parents/carers and key worker before visits to a new room start. Each room has beautiful indoor and outdoor space for the children to play, learn and grow within. Each room also has a room leader who oversees the running of the room.

Each room focuses on the child as an individual and promotes care, learning and development through free play and by introducing activities that stimulate the children’s interests. The gardens and outdoor spaces are used by all the rooms throughout the year and are used to provide a variety of different challenges and experiences for your child.  

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (DfES, 2007) which became a statutory requirement in September 2008. The EYFS sets out guidance for the care, welfare and learning for all children aged 0-5 years. EYFS is currently under consultation by the Department For Education and the updated version is due to come into effect in September 2012. The nursery has members of the team who have achieved Early Years Professional Status (EYP’s).
