Focus and Technical User Groups
A large part of what the eHealth team does involves running focus and Technical User Groups (TUGs) to find out what users think of the technology on offer.
These groups are run throughout the city and we try to cover all sections of the community. All group members are aged 55+, come from all areas of the city, are from a variety of home tenure and have varying health and social care needs.
Focus groups are low level interaction with the community and are based at various venues across the city including community and resource centres', and also within communal rooms within sheltered accommodation schemes.
The TUGs consist of members of the community who have previously attended focus groups run by the eHealth Project and would like to become more involved with the eHealth agenda, along with selected technology users who have extensive skills in particular areas such as ICT (information communication technology).
If you would like to attend either a focus group or a TUG please call the eHealth team on 01482 342294.
eHealth Conference 2011
The eHealth Conference was held on Thursday 24th March 2011 at The Octagon in Hull and aimed to provide attendees with the opportunity to look at the future of home health monitoring and assistive technologies that can improve quality of life, aid independent living and improve health and well being.
The conference consisted of a series of presentations around the topics of Telehealth and Telecare, both in Hull and in the UK overall, and the room also contained a number of "stalls" where various companies, projects and organisations were there to provide advice and support around health and social care and independent living.
