Safeguarding Adults Training

This half day course has been designed as a basic awareness course and is aimed at anyone who may have regular contact with, or provide support to, vulnerable adults. The course is designed to provide an understanding of the knowledge required in order to support an individual in danger of abuse or neglect in accordance with Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA).

The course will examine the background to safeguarding and look at the definitions and recommendations included in “no secrets”. The course will also explore what abuse is, the different forms of abuse, who may be at risk and the strategies to use to avoid abuse.

The course also provides an overview of POVA legislation, how it interacts with both organisational policies and procedures and the responsibilities of those who work with vulnerable adults.
