Working in Neighbourhoods Training

The course will look at community development and cohesion (including neighbourhood regeneration) by tackling communication and identifying problem solving strategies, as well as how to participate effectively in partnership working. The role of Local Strategic Partnerships and Local Area Agreements within neighbourhood working will also be examined.

Community Interaction Skills Training

The Neighbourhood Training and Resource Centre works in partnership with the consultant Josephine Yates to deliver this 4 day course. The course has been devised especially for those who need particular skills to establish good inter-personal relations and the ability to avoid or minimise the occurrence of potentially difficult or dangerous situations. It is very important to work effectively at all times, but particularly when working with people who are in potentially hostile or dangerous situations, or who are vulnerable.

Effective Minute Taking Training

This course is designed to enable existing and prospective minute-takers to develop the skills and confidence required to take and produce accurate and clearly written minutes.

The course will look at the role and purpose of minutes and minute taking, provide participants with an understanding of how minutes should be taken, develop listening skills and techniques and provide an understanding of minute taking etiquette, protocols and practical applications.
