This two day course is an introduction to community engagement and has been designed for anyone who works directly in neighbourhoods, especially those who have an interest in community engagement or a role in developing and involving communities.
The course provides an overview of community engagement within the context of neighbourhood renewal and examines this in relation to different levels of involvement. It explores the benefits and challenges of using the more traditional means, whilst advocating the use of participatory methods as an effective community engagement option. The course provides learners with a range of participatory tools and provides the opportunity for learners to practice these whilst comparing them with traditional methods.
