Birthing the Future of our Children
Andrea Robertson of Birth International, will be discussing how pregnant women
need a friend and supporter, who believes they will master the effort of giving birth
and will go on to mother their babies successfully. Doulas have a proven record in
this regard and can make a huge difference to the beginnings of family life for
those in their care.
Working Together to Make a Change
Ruth Weston owner of Aquabirths, chair of MSLC, veteran campaigner, stroppy
mum will be discussing the dynamics of working together to make change happen!
Creating an Optimum Birthing Environment
Selina Nylander is a Doula and teacher of public health and will be looking at
optimising the space within hospital rooms as a birth partner/midwife and
incorporating ideas to facilitate physiological birth.
Midwives and Mothers : Pushing the Boundaries
Sheena Byrom, Head of Midwifery, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, will share
with us examples of how women and midwives have worked together to achieve a
positive birth under adverse circumstances.
Supporting dads in the birthing room
‘Fathers, the Miracles, the Myths and the Magic’
