Kickstarters will help the programme get off to a flying start due to having strong community networks, existing structures in which community organisers can immediately be hosted and a range of practical support and management already in place.
Pete McGurn, CEO of Goodwin Development Trust, said: “We’re really pleased that Hull is going to be one of the first pilot areas for the Community Organisers scheme. There are so many people out there who are dedicated, motivated and really care about making their neighbourhood a better place to be.
Jess Steele, who leads the Community Organisers programme at Locality said: “We selected Goodwin as a kickstarter because of their strong links to the local community in Hull. They are positive, proactive and have an innovative, problem-solving approach to tackling local issues.
