Stuart has been a trustee of Goodwin Development Trust (GDT) since March 2005 and was elected as Chair of the Board in May 2008.  He works with the Board to ensure GDT complies with all legal requirements.  He volunteered as a broadcaster on Hospital Radio for a number of years while also devising and delivering training packages for new presenters, and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio locally. Stuart is also a director of West Hull Community Radio.

Stuart has had a rich and varied career with previous experience as a teacher; coach driver; Roman Catholic Priest; teacher of English as a Foreign Language; radio presenter; and general manager of a Coach and Bus Company responsible for the recruitment and welfare of staff as well as the creation and operation of systems.  Stuart is currently the Revenue Protection Manager for Trans Pennine Express, responsible for identifying and implementing systems to eradicate instances of fraudulent travel on the Transpennine rail network and for managing the prosecution service of that company.  Stuart’s background and experience gives him a wealth of experience and skills that he applies to his role of Chair.
